KIKU grew from something more than a love for music. It grew from a curiosity about what makes certain musical experiences feel authentic and real, immediate and unforgettable. And from a desire to create the conditions in which those moments can happen.
I have never felt the need to know everything about music. What interests me is something else.
Why does one musical experience stay with you for years, while another disappears almost immediately? What happens between the moment musicians enter a studio and the moment that music eventually reaches us?
That curiosity gradually led me closer to the source. From records and original editions to recording techniques, mastering, analogue tape and the systems capable of revealing what is actually there.
The equipment or the collection was never the destination.
It was just part of the experience and of the journey.
